This month I want to share about two people—who, were it not for you, would be hopeless. First Belinda’s story:
“About 5 years ago my husband became abusive. He would punch me, spit on me, and take the keys to my car so I couldn’t get to nursing school classes. He would also remove my tires and take the battery out of my car so that I was stranded and isolated. I still remember him shouting and firing a gun through the roof of our car. I was so scared for myself and my kids.
“One night, he punched me in the head. I was so dizzy that I had my teenage daughter take me to the hospital. The police took a report and arrested my husband. He was in jail for two days and then...
